A man has been charged with multiple offences

A man has been charged with multiple offences after officers responded to an incident in #Berkhamsted over the weekend.

On Sunday (24 May), a report was made to police stating that a pedal cycle theft was in progress in the Boxwell Road area.

Details of a vehicle linked to the theft were passed to officers from the Road Policing Unit, who located it in Kingshill Way a short time later.

The vehicle failed to stop, heading towards the A41, where it travelled at speed the wrong way along the carriageway, leading the pursuit being called off.

After being involved in a collision with another vehicle, the driver decamped and made off through fields and hedges. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing and Response Team joined the search, leading to a man being arrested in #Wiggington.

Following enquiries, Bobby Lee O’brien, aged 34, from Hill Farm Avenue in Watford, has been charged with:

• Two counts of burglary

• Theft of a motor vehicle

• Theft of a pedal cycle

• Failing to stop

• Dangerous driving

• Driving whilst disqualfied

• Driving without insurance
