We understand the concern this may cause and want to reassure the community that patrols have been increased and we are actively investigating these incidents. What’s happening? Offenders are often targeting unlocked vehicles or those with valuables left inside. In some cases, they are attempting door handles overnight to find easy opportunities. How you can protect yourself: Always lock your vehicle, even when parked outside your homeRemove all valuables from sight (including bags, tools, and loose change)Ensure keyless vehicles are stored with keys kept away from doors/windows and consider using a Faraday pouchPark in well-lit areas where possible or use CCTV/door camerasDouble-check your vehicle before going to bed What to do if you see something suspicious: Report suspicious activity immediately via 999 in an emergencyFor non-urgent information, contact 101 or report onlineIf you have CCTV or doorbell footage that may assist, please come forwardOur commitment: We are carrying out targeted patrols, reviewing CCTV opportunities, and working with partners to prevent further incidents.
