I wanted to provide you with an update regarding House burglary, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. We would like to make you aware that a burglary has recently taken place on your road. Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are carrying out patrols in the area. Incidents like this can be unsettling, and we ask that you remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to us. To help protect your home, please consider the following crime prevention advice:
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home or in the garden. - Remove keys from locks and keep them out of sight, especially near letterboxes. - Install security lighting or CCTV where possible to deter offenders. - Do not leave valuable items on display, particularly near windows. - Cancel regular deliveries (milk, parcels, etc.) if you are away, and ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property. - Consider using timer switches to give the appearance that someone is home. - Report suspicious behaviour immediately – if a crime is in progress call 999, otherwise contact 101 or report online.
Your support is vital in helping to keep the community safe. If you have any information relating to this incident, please get in touch. Thank you for your continued vigilance. Kind regards, PCSO Steph Nicholls-Pickering
