Arrests by our Officers this set

Burglary Other after a male was caught attempting to break into a garage.

2 suspects for Harrassment. One which is related to knife crime.

1 breach of Domestic Violence Protection Order.

1 arrest for failing to appear at court.

1 domestic abuse offender.

Officers also rescued a malnourished dog from a tower block this week, he has been taken to a vet prior to going into our Police Kennels whilst enquiries are made.

Look out for us on our new electrically assisted pedal cycles! (EAPCs)🚴‍♂️The team have been utilising these in order to cover more ground and to further engage effectively with our community! Give us a wave if you see us out and about.

Op Sceptre

We have been engaged in many activities for Op Sceptre this week and it’s been great to have Streetwatch & WMP Cadets patrolling with us.

SW completed a knife sweep around all the trees & bushes circling the Town Centre on Tuesday 19th & the Cadets assisted two of our Officers last night, Thursday 21st, engaging with everyone on the Bus Interchange regarding the dangers of knife crime. They then continued into Meriden Park to knife sweep in the wooded area.

Thursday afternoon saw a 37yr old female arrested in possession of a knife on Greenlands Road.

A weapon surrender bin is a place where you can safely dispose of a knife, blade or other weapon. It is anonymous and the bin has been designed to be secure and safe.

Your local weapon surrender bin is located at the bottom of the escalators and stairwell as you leave the Town Centre heading towards the car park #lifeorknife

One of the educational cards that our Cadets were handing out is #’Talk to your child’ you can search this on WMP website or Fearless.org and remember you can make us aware anonymously if you know someone is carrying a knife through CrimeStoppers 0800 555 111

This weekend sees the Bank Holiday and the start of School half term, I have attached a poster for activities taking place at Tudor Grange School over the half term. This is the Solihull Tudor Grange campus NOT ours on Cooks Lane but it is open to ALL Solihull children and might be of interest to some of you.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust will be at Chelmsley Library on Tuesday 26th 2-4pm.

The Community Wardrobe part of the Uplift Initiative is at Riverside, Bosworth Drive on Tuesday 26th May from 10am.

There is a Family event at Riverside on Wednesday 27th 10-12 all around water safety.

Crime Updates 14th – 22nd May

Chelmsley Wood

At 23:35hrs on 14th May, the front bumper of a Ford Fiesta was stolen on Arbor Way.

Around 01:25hrs on 16th May, an Audi A4 was entered and a laptop stolen from within whilst parked on Maple Leaf Drive.

At 18:50hrs on 18th May, 2 pushbikes were stolen from Marston Green park Moorend Avenue by two mixed race males.

At 01:00hrs on 19th May, a Ford Galaxy was stolen from Alder Drive.

At 01:30hrs on 20th May, a Ford Fiesta was stolen from Hamar Way

Fordbridge

At 20:00hrs on 12th May, a Ford Transit was stolen from Wingfield Close.

Between 18:00hrs on 14th & 13:15hrs on 15th May, a Peugeot 2008 was stolen from Glovers Croft.

Between 09:00 x 10:00hrs on 16th May, a Vauxhall Astra was stolen from ChapelhouseRoad.

Between 18:00 x 22:35hrs on 18th May, a Mini Cooper was set alight by 3 males on Kelsull Croft. This vehicle had been stolen from the Smiths Wood area.

Through the night of 18th/19th May, a roof box was stolen from a Alfa Romeo on Kelsull Croft damaging the vehicle.

Around 01:30hrs on 19th May, 3 males opened a Ford Focus on Leahill Croft but made off when they were disturbed by a neighbour.

Between 02:50 & 03:50hrs on 20th May, Offender/s broke into a property on Lark Meadow Drive to steal the vehicle keys to a Ford Transit. Making there escape in the stolen van.

At 03:25hrs on 20th May, tools were stolen from a Volvo parked on Heathmere Drive.

Between 23:00hrs 19th & 12:00hrs on 20th May, a Ford Fiesta was stolen from Hadfield Way.

Overnight 20th/21st May, offender/s attempted to enter a property on Grantley Drive. They tried to burn/melt the door lock.
