Dear Resident,
A drug dealer has been jailed for nearly three years after Operation Fearless officers found 23kg of cannabis following a raid at his home in Birmingham. Nam Le’s home on Lloyd Road in Handsworth was searched last October as part of an wider investigation. We found 2kg of drugs in a wardrobe, along with £8,000 in cash in his bedroom and £1,000 in a car linked to him parked outside. In a van linked to him which was also parked nearby, suitcases and bags containing 21kg of cannabis were also seized.

In all, the drugs had an estimated value of up to £140,000. Le, aged 30, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and possession of cash linked to crime. He was jailed for two years and nine months at Birmingham Crown Court last Friday (15).

Det Insp Tom Lyons, from Operation Fearless, said: “This was a significant recovery of drugs, which we believe belonged to a wider organised crime group, and which would have gone on to be sold to fund further serious criminal activities.”

The investigation was carried out by Operation Fearless, which was working to tackle to tackle organised crime including drug dealing and exploitation in the Southside area of the city at the time. Earlier this month, the Fearless team officially moved to the Soho Road and Handsworth Triangle area of Birmingham, where they are tackling drugs, knife crime, and serious and organised crime linked to “mini-mart” style shops.
