A 21-year-old man has been jailed for 4 months after pleading guilty to motoring offences.
Thomas Gillingham of Little Blakenham appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday 20 May, where he was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment for driving while disqualified and driving without motor insurance.
On Tuesday 19 May at approximately 6.15pm, roads policing officers witnessed Gillingham driving a Ford Ranger vehicle at The Beeches, Little Blakenham. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving while disqualified and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was subsequently charged with driving while disqualified and driving without valid motor insurance.
PC Alexander Fletcher from the Roads Armed Policing Team said, “Gillingham’s continued disregard for road traffic law has resulted in a custodial sentence, reflecting the seriousness of these offences. Driving whilst disqualified and without insurance puts other road users at risk. We will continue to work to keep our roads safe and take action against those who choose to ignore the law.”
