Weapons Sweep Operations

On Wednesday 20th May 2026, Bromley Safer Neighbourhood Team in partnership with Ward Security conducted a weapon sweep operation at Church House Gardens to support Metropolitan Police initiative Op Sceptre. This proactive measure aims to enhance public safety, reduce the risk of concealed weapons, and provide reassurance to residents.

The Op Sceptre aims to:

Reduce the presence of weapons in the community and schools

Deter individuals from carrying or concealing weapons

Increase awareness of the risks and consequences of knife crime

Empower schools to deliver effective preventative education

Support a safer environment for young people and the wider community.
