Public Update: Knife Crime Awareness Week |
||
|
As part of Knife Crime Awareness Week, local policing teams have been carrying out enhanced patrols and targeted weapon sweeps across key areas in the community, such as Priory Court Estate.
Throughout the week, officers have increased their visible presence in neighbourhoods, transport hubs, parks, and known hotspots. These patrols are designed to both deter offending and provide reassurance to the public.
Officers have also been speaking directly with residents to provide advice, listen to concerns, and encourage anyone with information about knife crime to come forward. Community cooperation remains vital in tackling this issue.
Message to the public: Knife crime has devastating consequences, and carrying a knife puts lives at risk — including your own. We are committed to enforcement, prevention, and education, but we need continued support from the public to make a lasting impact.
If you have information or concerns, please report it via:
We will continue proactive patrols and enforcement activity beyond this week to ensure sustained community safety.
