Report captures youth voices on knife crime

Young people have their say on knife crime 🗨️
 

Today we're publishing a report capturing the views of young people on knife crime and how organisations across Cleveland can prevent it.
 

We worked with more than 20 young people from alternative provisions and 100 students from Bede Sixth Form College in fun, interactive workshops during February and March this year.
 

This engagement work took place to ensure that young voices are captured in work to reduce violent crime.
 

Suggestions from participants include:
 

➡️ More knife amnesty bins

➡️ Therapy for offenders

➡️ Greater restrictions on buying knives

➡️ Increased police visibility

➡️ Greater use of stop-and-search powers
 

The report will be sent to leaders across the area.
