I wanted to provide you with an update regarding burglary, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Good morning dear residents of EDGWARE
On late shifts officers from EDGWARE SNT will conduct foot and mobile patrols late in evening in the areas hard targeted for burglaries and vehicles theft. We encourage residents from EDGWARE to report any suspicious activity in their areas. Working together for a safer EDGWARE is the main purpose to reduce crimes in the area. As you already know from the previous post on MET ENGAGE , with the help from member of public , one stolen moped was recovered by the owner. Over the last two months four stolen mopeds were recovered by the owners, a total of 65 ASB WARNING NOTICES were issued for different offences , two COMMUNITY PROTECTION WARNING NOTICES were issued and one COMMUNITY PROTECTION NOTICE. Please be aware of individuals which are committing theft and robberies inside of BROADWALK SHOPPING CENTRE , BUS GARAGE and STATION ROAD. They are using bikes and are wearing balaclavas to not be identified. Don't use your phone in crowded places (shopping centre, bus stations, train station) . If you come across with our officers in patrol you can speak with them in relation with your concerns.
Thank you
EDGWARE SNT
While we will continue to pursue burglars in the area, there are steps you can do to help keep your property safe. Make sure that you: Double lock your door every time you leave the house If you can, move garden furniture or bins away from windows so that thieves cannot use them to gain access. Use laminated glass or security film on ground floor and accessible windows. Use a sash stop if you have sash windows to prevent people opening them enough to climb through. If your windows open outwards, use a key operated lock – check these are locked before leaving the house. Make sure all valuables are out of sight. Keep handbags and keys away from letterboxes or cat flaps. In the evening shut the curtains and leave lights on. Set your burglar alarm Lock your shed or garage Mark, register or record your valuables.
