Dear Residents, As the weather improves, many residents choose to leave windows and doors open to allow fresh air into their homes. However, this can create opportunities for opportunist offenders to gain access and commit burglary. We would like to remind residents to take simple steps to protect their property: Always secure your home – Do not leave windows or doors open when you are not in the room, particularly on ground floors or accessible upper floors.Use window restrictors and locks – Fit locks or restrictors to prevent windows from being opened fully.Lock doors even when at home – Opportunist burglars may take advantage of unsecured entry points.Keep valuables out of sight – Avoid leaving items such as phones, laptops, or keys near open windows.Secure bikes properly – Use strong locks and secure bicycles to an immovable object, even when stored indoors or in communal areas.Be mindful in shared spaces – Keep personal belongings clearly labelled and stored securely where possible.Useful Crime Prevention LinksProtect your home from burglary:
