Police Appeal Following Deliberate Harm to Wild Birds |
||
|
Dear Resident
Hertfordshire Constabulary is appealing for information following a number of distressing incidents in the Broxbourne and Cheshunt areas involving youths deliberately injuring defenceless wild birds, including ducks and swans.
Officers have received several reports and are working closely with local Neighbourhood Policing Teams to identify those responsible. A number of individuals have already been named and will be dealt with robustly.
In the most recent incident, a duck suffered a severe injury to its beak and had to be euthanised, causing unnecessary suffering.
The Rural Operational Support Team are urging anyone with information to come forward.
You can report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can contact the League against cruel sports via their online form > Report an Animal Crime
