Hello Custom House,
I hope you are all enjoying today’s sunshine. We’ve had nine crimes reported across the streets of Custom House this week, with one or two incidents being more serious than the others. Please read below for a summary of what has been reported and where.
Assault 18/05/2026 – Lets start with the big one. A dispute over a broken window escalated into violence in Normandy Terrace. One person was struck with a bat, and another male reportedly produced a firearm and hit someone with it. At this stage, it is unclear whether the firearm was genuine or an imitation. Firearms officers attended, however the suspect left the area in a vehicle before police arrived. While I cannot go into further detail at this time, I can assure residents that the investigation is ongoing and arrests are expected shortly. 18/05/2026 – A fight broke out between residents at a property in King George Avenue after a habitual drug user, Who admitted to being under the influence at the time, became aggressive as he did not know where all his money had gone.
Possession With Intent to Supply Drugs 14/05/2026 – An Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) alert identified a vehicle suspected of involvement in drug dealing on the A13. Officers stopped the vehicle near Butchers Road, where cannabis and a quantity of cash were recovered. A male was arrested and a search of his home address was carried out.
Theft 18/05/2026 – A male consumed a large amount of alcohol and fell asleep in the street. While unconscious, the bicycle he had with him was stolen by an unknown person. 15/05/2026 – Two scooters were stolen from Royal Docks Community School. CCTV footage is available and enquiries are ongoing. 19/05/2026 – A parcel was stolen from a delivery van en route to an address in Boreham Avenue. 16/05/2026 – A delivered parcel was stolen from that very same address in Boreham.
Theft From a Person 20/05/2026 – Two mobile phones were stolen at the same time during a cycle-enabled phone snatch at the south end of Freemasons Road. The suspects were described as wearing all-black clothing with face coverings.
Theft of a Vehicle 19/05/2026 – And a Hyundai vehicle was stolen from Woodcocks, E6.
Please continue to take care with your mobile phones while out and about. If you are friendly with your neighbours, consider taking in any unattended parcels for them, and if you are not yet on friendly terms, it can be a good way to start.
