Today, PCSO Naz visited a number of retailers along Barkingside High Street to promote and reinforce the Responsible Retailer Agreement.

This vital, voluntary scheme ensures that retailers:

Securely store all bladed items Carry out strict age verification checks Follow the Challenge 25 policy when selling knives

During visits, shops were reminded of their responsibilities and checked to ensure they are fully complying with current laws and regulations around the sale of knives.

Why this matters: By preventing underage sales and encouraging responsible practices, we are actively working to reduce knife crime, keep weapons off our streets, and protect our community.

Every responsible action helps stop knives getting into the wrong hands.
