GMP- Knife crime week.

Officers from the Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team were on patrol today as a part of Operation Septer in Bury town centre. Officers spoke with the shop owners selling knifes about the safety and legal requirements surrounding ID checks and the minimum age for the sale of knives to young people.

PC Khan visited Town Centre Community Hub, where she spoke with the member of the community and distributed leaflets regarding the safe disposal of knives using the amnesty bin located in the Bury Police Station.

If you may have any unwanted knives at home and are concerned about their safe disposal, this is an excellent way to ensure they are responsibly and securely disposed of.
