Appeal for witnesses to two linked burglaries |
||
|
Police are appealing for witnesses to two burglaries which took place in Cinderford earlier this month and are believed to be linked.
It was reported that two unknown offenders had smashed the window of a conservatory to gain entry to a property on Belle Vue Road at around 10.05pm on Thursday 7 May.
Once inside the address the offenders searched a room whilst the elderly victim slept and then stole two jewellery boxes which contained sentimental items.
House to house and CCTV enquiries have taken place in the local area.
As a result of this officers have established that those responsible for the burglary arrived in a car which looked similar to a Mercedes Benz. They parked the vehicle outside the address, facing the traffic uphill, and later drove off in the direction of the Littledean area.
A second burglary was reported on The Oak Field between 8.50pm on Thursday 7 May and 2am on Friday 8 May.
During this incident unknown offenders smashed a sliding patio door to gain entry to the address. They went on to search each room of the house before filling a pillow case with items of jewellery such as rings, watches and earrings.
Investigating officers are now keen to hear from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has information which they feel is relevant.
