Op Sceptre is Nottinghamshire Police's response to the issue of Knife Crime and this week is a week of action in relation to Knife Crime. Officers of the Eastwood Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting knife sweeps of the parks in Eastwood, Checking in with retailers in the town with regards to the sale of knives, conducting High Visibility patrols of Anti Social Behaviour Hotspots in the area, and visiting schools talking to pupils. In conjunction with Eastwood Town Council a knife amnesty bin is to be located outside the council offices. Further details as to when it will be deployed will follow in a subsequent alert.
