Safer Neighbourhood Team Update – Operation Sceptre
Yesterday, officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a knife sweep at West End Recreation Ground as part of Operation Sceptre, the national knife crime awareness week.
We were joined by PPO Baker from Derby City Council, no knives were found on this occasion, which is a positive result and reflects ongoing efforts to keep our community safe. These proactive patrols remain an important part of preventing harm and maintaining safe public spaces.
Today, the team also visited Walter Evans Primary School, where they spoke with Year 6 students about the laws surrounding knives, the risks involved, and the importance of making positive choices. Engaging with young people and working together as a community are key steps in preventing knife crime and keeping everyone safe.
