Barkingside Ward – Op Sceptre Activity Update

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team has recently carried out proactive activity in the Barkingside area as part of Op Sceptre, focusing on tackling knife crime and improving community safety.

Officers conducted a weapons sweep at the alleyway and rear of Faces Night Club, Gants Hill, Cranbrook Road. The area was thoroughly searched, including concealed spaces and rear access points. No weapons or suspicious items were found.

In addition, officers visited local shops as part of the London Responsible Retailer Agreement, engaging with retailers about the safe storage and sale of knives. Advice and guidance were provided, and no significant concerns were identified.

We will continue to carry out patrols and engagement to keep the area safe and respond to community concerns.
