Positive Community Engagements at Bankside Primary School |
||
|
On Wednesday 13th May 2026, PCSO’s Arveda and Koky attended Bankside Primary School, Harehills (Leeds) alongside PC Meek (School Liaison Officer) to support their weekly coffee morning with parents. These sessions, held every Wednesday, provide a great opportunity for parents and carers to speak directly with local officers about any concerns relating to school and community safety. Topics discussed included traffic and parking issues around the school, as well as wider safety concerns affecting children and families. It was fantastic to engage with parents who asked thoughtful and important questions. Officers were able to offer guidance and reassurance, particularly around online safety—including how young people can stay safe while using gaming platforms and the risks associated with communicating with strangers online. The parents in attendance were also introduced to the ‘Family Link’ app, a free parental control tool that helps families manage their children’s digital wellbeing. The app allows parents and guardians to: ✅ Set screen time limits The resource can help to keep children safe online and reduce the risk of cybercrime. Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to thank the school and all the parents who attended – your engagement helps us work together to keep our communities safe.
