I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - them from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. We are aware of a report of a vehicle being damaged and there has been an attempt theft of items from inside the vehicle in the High Cross Road area of Rogerstone.
Officers are conducting enquiries in the area to assist with on-going investigations. We encourage anyone with information or CCTV footage on this incident to contact us. Your information and vigilance play a key role in assisting our investigations. Our teams are actively patrolling and engaging with residents to reduce and deter criminal activity. Help us, help you – Crime Prevention Advice - Always lock your vehicle, keep windows secured and remove everything from sight (double check before walking away). - Keep your documents safe and make sure they are stored at home, not in your vehicle. - Consider installing CCTV or video doorbells that cover your driveway or parking area. - Parking in well-lit areas reduces opportunities for offenders. - Do not leave your vehicle with the engine running unattended, especially in the colder winter months. - If you have a keyless car, ensure your keys are well away from the car, put them in a signal-blocking pouch such as a faraday bag or turn off wireless signals on your fob when it is not being used. - Report any suspicious behaviour immediately; your call could prevent a crime or help us catch an offender in the act.
