New local priorities set for Baldock and Letchworth |
Dear Resident Over the past few months, Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) across North Herts have been working hard to tackle their local policing priorities - the issues that residents said were causing them the most concern. NPTs work alongside partner agencies to focus on solving long and short-term neighbourhood issues, such as anti-social behaviour, theft, speeding and drug-related crime. The NPT teams in North Herts set local policing priorities every four months, providing a specific focus on the issues that residents have raised through surveys, and an analysis of other data. The dedicated teams of PCs and PCSOs will work alongside partners to tackle the issues, through an increased police presence, engagement events and targeted enforcement.
Letchworth & Baldock During the last period the following issues were addressed: • Illegal use of e-scooters in Letchworth Garden City and Baldock. Work is ongoing on this priority as your local team continues to dedicate time and resources to it. As a result of extensive efforts, multiple vehicles have been seized and enforcement. Even Chief Constable Andy Prophet has joined the local team for patrol activity. Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner funding has been secured for extra patrols, and this activity will continue into the summer months. • Speeding in Wilbury Road, Letchworth Garden City. Numerous police activities have taken place in this location throughout this period. Focussing on education and prevention, your NPT has deployed the Speed Indication Device and high-visibility presence to ensure that drivers are aware of, and adhere to, the speed limit.
The following priorities have now been agreed for the next four months: • Anti-Social Behaviour in Letchworth town centre and Howard Park. We will increase patrols in and around these locations to ensure we are able to respond to, and also prevent, incidents of ASB. Increased visibility and engagement will help us to ensure the local communities are able to enjoy the town centre and Howard Park. • Illegal use of e-scooters in Letchworth and Baldock. The excellent work that your local team has already undertaken to address this issue will continue throughout the summer. Expect to see more vehicles being seized. | ||
