Dear residents of Aspley, Broxtowe and Bells Lane beats,
This is just to update you on our team's activities yesterday, which was our team's first shift back after rest days. The hope is to give residents an idea of how the team operate during day-to-day business.
Myself and PC Morgan visited a woman with our mental health street triage team following a referral we made last week. The triage team is a police officer and mental health nurse who help with mental health-related incidents we deal with. Our visit was to determine if the woman needed any immediate or further interventions. However, after the visit these were not deemed necessary at this stage.
We then completed a visit to a man subject to a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO). DVPOs are court orders designed to protect those at risk of domestic violence by prohibiting contact between the two people involved. We gave the man a copy of the court order and explained its conditions. We also spoke to the female the order is intended to protect to ensure none of the conditions had been breached, which we are pleased to say they hadn't been.
We then attended a report of debris in the road on Nuthall roundabout on the A610. This was safely removed without any further issues.
Later in the afternoon we attended a report of a group of youths acting suspiciously in Eltham Drive. This is an area of continued focus regarding anti-social behaviour. However, despite an extensive search around Eltham Drive, Deepdene Way, Amesbury Circus and surrounding roads we could not locate the group. An intelligence report was submitted about their activity.
I finished the shift by preparing an application for a court order due to be heard later this week. I am asking the court to consider banning a persistent shoplifter from numerous shops on our patch due to his persistent offending history as a shoplifter. This has involved getting the support of affected businesses across Aspley, Billborough and Wollaton. Many of the businesses were more than happy to support the application due the impact of shoplifting. The court order will be heard on Thursday.
Kind regards,
PC McKay 6138
