Drug arrest |
||
|
At around 2.20pm on Monday 18th May uniformed officers from the newly formed Police and Council Tasking Team (PACTT) were on patrol near Carlisle Place when they noticed a young male acting suspiciously. He was seen walking into King’s Scholar’s Passage with a known drug user and then passing him an unknown item. At this point officers stopped the suspect under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. A search of the immediate area found a quantity of discarded Class A drugs. The suspect was then arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply and taken to Charing Cross Police Station where he remains in custody. As with several similar recent incidents in our area the suspect is a juvenile. Just the latest in a long line of young people being drawn into drug dealing despite the obvious risks and dangers it poses. Today's arrest by the PACTT is not the first on our ward and is evidence of the welcome reinforcement its officers bring to our ongoing efforts. | ||
