I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Community Update
Good news, overnight there were no reported phone thefts, and we are seeing a reduction in incidents. Increased police presence is continuing to help deter this type of activity, and further patrols are planned.
We are aware of recent tactics where individuals may approach members of the public, sometimes pretending to need assistance, or using bicycles (including hire bikes) to move quickly through areas.
Please stay aware of your surroundings, especially in busy areas and on public transport, where phones can be more vulnerable to opportunistic snatching.
If you notice any suspicious behaviour, please report it. Together, we can keep the community safe.
