Cycle patrols

We are pleased to let local residents know that PC Vincent and PC Young from your Safer Neighbourhood Team have recently completed their cycle training. What does this mean for the community you may ask? This means that officers are able to show a constant visible presence in the local area, using bicycles allows officers to patrol parks, estates, pathways and residential streets more effectively which also helps us engage with residents more. 

This is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping neighbourhoods safe, building positive relationships with residents, and providing a more approachable and visible policing presence within the community whilst also support crime prevention, allowing officers to access areas that are hard to reach by vehicles. 

If you see our officers out on cycle patrol, please feel free to stop and speak with them as they'll also be tackling those hills so let's hope they have their Weetabix!
