RELAUNCH OF GOWER RUGBY CHALLENGE CUP

Hello Everyone

On the 15th of May 2026, South Wales Police saw the re-launch of the successful Gower Rugby Challenge Cup at Dunvant Rugby Club. The inaugural event being 2009 the last being in 2019 due to the pandemic. 

This was organised by PCSOs Chris Dix and Andy Brown, of Gower Neighbourhood Policing Team, with the support of The Ospreys.

16 primary schools were invited along to take part and enjoy the tournament.

A superb, sunny day was had by all, the children played with good sportsmanship, showing respect for opponents, team mates and officials.

Fair play Shield: Oystermouth Primary

The trophies were presented by Chief Superintendent Steve Jones, Police Crime Commissioner Emma Wools and Inspector Simon Trick.

Our aim is to bring the community closer together through sport, which helps break down barriers and build positive relationships.
