Hello All
Operation Sceptre - Monday 18th May – Sunday 24th May 2024
Op Sceptre is a national weeklong initiative to tackle knife and knife-enable crime. During this week, your Safer Neighbourhood Team will be out and about engaging with our residents through, school engagements, where we work closely with schools to educate young people about the dangers of knife crime – the campaign works with those at risk of becoming involved with knife crime, diverting them towards a better life, through explaining the consequences of carrying/using knives for the wrong purpose.
Your Safer Neighbourhood Team will be, conducting street meets, with the knife amnesty bin (see below), giving our residents the opportunity to surrender any unwanted knives, to help keep them off the streets and possibly falling into the wrong hands.
And you will also see us visiting retail premisses' - where we will be speaking to workers ensuring that if they sell knives they are using Challenge 25 when necessary and displaying educational posters.
