I wanted to provide you with an update regarding burglary, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. I hope this message finds you well and your kettles full.
Unfortunately, we’ve had a bit of unwelcome late-night activity on Deerings Drive on 8/05/26. In the early hours, some mystery guests (who sadly didn’t RSVP) entered a property and conducted what can only be described as a very tidy search—we’d applaud the organisation if it weren’t entirely unwelcome.
It appears that a car key has been taken, which suggests this wasn’t just a casual browse for biscuits.
While the suspects remain unknown, this is a good reminder to double-check doors, windows, and car keys—especially keeping keys out of sight and away from entry points. Think of it as doing your future self a favour (and denying these night owls an easy win).
📅 Street Briefing – You’re Invited To keep everyone informed and answer any questions, we’ll be holding a street briefing:
Date: 22/05/26 Time: 1:00 PM Location: Deerings Drive (exact spot will be obvious—look for the people chatting seriously about security!)
Whether you have concerns, questions, or just want reassurance, please come along. No question is too small—except maybe "Was it definitely not a raccoon?" (we’re fairly confident).
Let’s work together to keep Eastcote the safe and friendly place we all enjoy—minus the surprise guests.
If you notice anything suspicious, please report it—promptly and preferably before they get too tidy. Stay safe, lock up, and we hope to see you on the 22nd.

While we will continue to pursue burglars in the area, there are steps you can do to help keep your property safe. Make sure that you: Double lock your door every time you leave the house If you can, move garden furniture or bins away from windows so that thieves cannot use them to gain access. Use laminated glass or security film on ground floor and accessible windows. Use a sash stop if you have sash windows to prevent people opening them enough to climb through. If your windows open outwards, use a key operated lock – check these are locked before leaving the house. Make sure all valuables are out of sight. Keep handbags and keys away from letterboxes or cat flaps. In the evening shut the curtains and leave lights on. Set your burglar alarm Lock your shed or garage Mark, register or record your valuables.
