Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Update – Operation Hurricane The Middleton Neighbourhood Team has been actively patrolling the area as part of Operation Hurricane, with a focus on tackling the use of off-road bikes and addressing associated anti-social behaviour across Middleton. As a result of our ongoing efforts, we have achieved the following outcomes so far: We remain committed to proactively reducing anti-social behaviour and will continue to maintain a visible presence within the community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Middleton residents. The Neighbourhood Policing are committed to addressing anti-social behaviour and ensuring the safety of our communities. Off-road bikes, when used irresponsibly, can cause significant alarm, distress, and annoyance to residents and businesses. This includes illegal off-roading, reckless riding, and the use of these vehicles in public spaces without due care and attention. We would like to remind the public that under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, officers have the authority to seize vehicles being used in a manner that causes alarm, distress, or annoyance to the public. This includes vehicles being driven without a valid licence, insurance, or in a careless or inconsiderate manner on public roads or off-road areas. We urge all members of the community to report any instances of anti-social behaviour involving off-road bikes. Your cooperation is vital in helping us maintain a safe and peaceful environment for everyone.
