Friday 15th May 2026 Sussex Alerts - Eastbourne Police
Dear Residents,
Please find below the latest Sussex Alerts from Eastbourne Police.
Tool Marking Event 13.05
We teamed up with Travis Perkins on Wednesaday this week to support local tradespeople by marking and protecting their tools with SelectaDNA kits, funded by the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner.
See the team in action here.
Helping make tools traceable, supporting police to prove theft and secure convictions, and keeping our local trades working.
Marked tools and property have a far higher chance of being reunited should they be stolen, not only this, but marking your property can make it less appealing to theives.
Thank you to Travis Perkins for hosting, and for those we spoke to and issued kits to on the day.
We hope to hold future events such as these in the not too distance future, and would encourage residents to keep an eye out on our Eastbourne Police social media, Sussex Alerts, or online here for upcoming events.
More information on marking your property to prevent theft and burglary can be found on our website here.
Proactive Police patrols to tackle ASB and town centre crime
Officers have been carrying out proactive patrols in Eastbourne town centre as part of ongoing work to tackle anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.
See the team in action here. Patrols have continued into this week, and will continue into the weekend.
Latest Fraud Prevention Newsletter
The latest Surrey and Sussex Police Fraud Newsletter is now available.
This edition highlights how the Banking Protocol is being used to protect victims at the point of risk, preventing fraud in real time through joint working with banks and partners.
The newsletter also provides an update on the latest fraud prevention advice and how we are working with communities to raise awareness and reduce harm.
We would encourage partners and community members to share this information with anyone who may not have internet access or the ability to view the newsletter online, to help ensure these important fraud‑prevention messages reach as many people as possible.
Read it here.
