Good news from your local Neighbourhood Team!

Yesterday your Neighbourhood officers who are responsible for covering the Kingsway/Newbold, Smallbridge/Firgrove and Belfield areas were out conducting patrols tackling local issues such as, anti-social behaviour, drug use, drug dealing and shoplifting.

Whilst conducting routine patrols within an area of Belfield that we have identified as being a hotspot for drug dealing, PC Brooks sighted two males acting suspiciously. 

PC Brooks and PC Padmore detained both males then conducted a stop and search, both searches were positive on the males.

One male found in possession of cannabis, which was dealt with by means of community resolution. The second male was found to have two lock knives, which are prohibited under s139 of the Criminal Justice act, and was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence of being in possession of a bladed article in a public place.

We hope this enforces a message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone found to be carrying knives will be dealt with accordingly.
