Hello Resident ✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ The team have been extremely busy this week enforcing the PSPO, ensuring everybody is aware of the conditions that are on the interchange. We have also placed a female under arrest for recall to prison.
This set, we've also had the horses in Chelmsley Wood patrolling the town centre and surrounding areas, and we hope you saw them out and about!
Next week is our Op Sceptre week of action - Operation Sceptre is a national, bi-annual week-long campaign in England and Wales targeting knife crime through policing, education, and community engagement. We will have a knife bin available from Chelmsley Wood police station from 7AM to 3PM, so if you are looking to dispose of any unwanted weapons, please come by! You will also notice an increased police presence particularly around our town centre as we will be conducting knife sweeps, and handing out leaflets. We will also be engaging with our schools in regard to the prevention of knife crime, and the dangers of it, and will be engaging with students to ensure they are staying safe.
We have also been patrolling our ASB hotspots including our parks and open areas to ensure everybody is staying safe, and to provide reassurance to our local communities. 📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅 Provide details of upcoming policing events or opportunities for the community to meet officers and engage directly. 🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨 🔎 Recent Incidents/Trends: Chelmsley Wood At 01:25hrs on 3rd May, a moocher with a signal interception device was trying vehicle doors on Radlow Crescent. Prevention is key; steering locks are inexpensive and easily found in local motoring shops, or through a reliable online retailer. You should also place any keyless entry vehicle keys in a faraday pouch in order to prevent relay theft - these are also inexpensive and easily found through online retailers, or at any of our drop-in sessions where we regularly give them out.
Furthermore, we are noticing an increase in car cannibalism - this is where offenders will remove parts of a vehicle such as front bumpers, headlights, or grilles - there are a few ways to prevent this.
