Clementswood PCSO was on Ilford Lane today talking about it being a Public Spaces Protection Order Area (PSPO) |
Clementswood PCSO spoke with local businesses, gave letters out & put posters up with regard to Ilford Lane being a Public Spaces Protection Order area (PSPO).
Public Space Protection Orders Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are used to help tackle anti-social behaviour, with the aim of ensuring public spaces can be enjoyed free from anti-social behaviour. We use PSPOs to control behaviour that is either having, or is likely to have a harmful effect on a local community's quality of life. PSPOs are introduced under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, which gives local authorities the power to restrict certain behaviours within a specified area. Breach of a PSPO without a reasonable excuse is an offence. A person(s) congregating in a group of two or more people in such a manner as to cause or is likely to cause nuisance, harassment, alarm or distress, refusing to leave an area when requested to do so by an authorised officer. Without good reason, a person(s) returning to an area within a 24-hour period after being requested to leave by an authorised officer. This could lead to £100 fine if not adhered to.
PCSO Bugg reiterated to all -Please be considerate of those around you so that everyone in the community can enjoy a safe and happy summer! | ||
