Your chance to vote on how Bradford funding tackling serious violence will be spent |
||
|
There's still time to register for a free event in Bradford where you can vote on how money will be spent on tackling serious violence. Members of the public are set to cast their votes on which projects will get a share of half a million pounds to tackle serious violence. Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin unveiled her ‘People’s Fund’ earlier this year, making up to £100,000 available for each of the county’s five districts. Now, local groups and organisations will pitch their ideas to communities in a special series of ‘You Decide’ events. Those projects receiving the most votes on the night will see funding of up to £10,000 to deliver their plans. The events are for people in the area they live in and you can sign up online. There are still a few places left at the Bradford College event tomorrow from 5.45-9pm tomorrow (Thursday May 14th). You can reserve your place here online. “Our People’s Fund is giving local communities the resources they need to turn their ideas into action. “We want people to have their say on what will make their community safer so I'm urging you all to come down and get involved. “As we invest this money recovered from criminals back into our communities, we can prevent more lives being lost to the scourge of serious violence.” All submissions will address serious violence, whether that’s knife crime, gangs, organised crime or violence against women and girls. | ||
