Works update

Please find below the latest update on the ongoing works.

Subject: S278 Road Works  

London Colney Roundabout

Works to top up white lines, markings and some finishings will commence on 18th May 2026

Works will be carried out at night under lane closures; so the roundabout remains open.

A414 Footpath and Cycle Link

Works progressing on days.

Park Street Roundabout

As previously communicated the contractor team are working hard to switch as much night works to days as possible. 

To date this has seen 5 weeks of nights accommodated into day working.

The next block of night working is programmed for the 26th May following the bank holiday. Further updates will be issued.

Subject Rail 

We have been advised there are rail works taking place this weekend.

The works are on the MML near to where it crosses the M25.

Subject Main Site South West Corner

The southern section of the existing bund (as flagged with red markers) in the south west of the site needs to be removed to allow access to the landfill materials. This phase is currently expected to begin week commencing 18th May 2026 following the ecology surveys and if subsequent approval is given to proceed with the works. The below ground landfill materials will be removed as a separate operation and notified in a further update.

General

Moor Mill Fisheries - CMCS continuing works to improve the lakes health and quality, via silt, brash, oxygenation, American crayfish, lily controls and measures.

CMCS continue to feed the existing stock and are looking at the potential to introduce new stock fish to the waters.

Members of the site team and contractors will be in and around the Frogmore lakes and Hyde Lane on Wednesday 13th May 13.30 – 18.30 to get Country Park feedback from users.
