Community Speed watch

 Community Speed Watch – Tunstead Milton 

This afternoon, the newly formed Tunstead Milton Community Speed Watch group carried out their first Speed Watch session on Manchester Road, Tunstead Milton 

 Between 13:00 and 14:00, a total of 166 vehicles travelled through the area from Whaley Bridge towards Chapel‑en‑le‑Frith. During the session, 3 vehicles were recorded exceeding the speed limit . The registered keepers of these vehicles will now receive an educational warning letter  reminding them of the importance of sticking to speed limits.

Speeding has previously contributed to road traffic incidents along this stretch of road , which is why this location is a real concern for local residents. Manchester Road is regularly used by pedestrians, cyclists and families , and driving too fast greatly increases the risk of serious injury. Tackling speeding in Tunstead Milton is a current community priority, identified by residents through Derbyshire Alert surveys .

 Community Speed Watch helps to educate drivers, improve road safety and reduce risk in areas where the community has asked for action.

 We will continue to carry out Speed Watch sessions in Tunstead Milton, as this is what the local community has asked for .
