It’s been a busy set here on the Rurals Local Policing Area but it’s been a very good shift for us and we’d like to share some of that news with you, With the summer sun peaking out from behind the clouds (finally) we’ve noticed a slight rise in anti-social behaviour, working from provided intelligence; Rurals officers have been quick to identify offenders both from CCTV and by speaking to local schools, we are in the process of undertaking measures to counter them before the schools break for the summer season by speaking to those in question about standards of behaviour expected in and around the community, if you are aware of any frequent anti-social behaviour hot spots happening in and around your area please do let us know with as much information in regards dates/times as to when this is happening and we will add these areas to our targeted hot spots for patrol and to speak to those responsible. we’ve also been busy with stolen and abandoned cars with officers being alerted to a vehicle that had been stripped and dumped in Meriden by members of the public, upon investigation it was the discovered the vehicle in question had been stolen several weeks prior to it being abandoned, enquires are underway and we hope to have a suspect soon.
Our Streetwatch scheme is thriving here in Balsall common with more and more people expressing interest in joining to help patrol their local areas, it’s a great opportunity to help be a visible presence for your local area as well as meet other residents. If you’d like to learn more than please visit the WMnow section on our webpage on how to join and finally if you are local to both Balsall Common and Meriden you can always pop by one of our beat surgeries hosted at their respective libraries and speak to us in confidence about any issues you may be having or if you are in need of further information.
