Shoplifter Arrested

Hi Resident,

Earlier today (10/05/26) whilst out on patrol in the town centre, Hyde officers came across a male who was leaving Home Bargains on Clarendon Street in a hurry with a shopping basket full of items.

The male was stopped by the officers and was found to have stolen all the items he had on his person. He was promptly arrested and taken into custody, where he will be interviewed about the offence, and officers will be working for the most positive outcome.

Retail crime remains a priority for the Hyde team, and we are always working with local businesses to identify offenders, share best practice, and create safer environments for shoppers and workers.
