What have we been up to today?
Community engagement:
The team held a street briefing on Westwood Road, there was a great turnout. A huge thank you to all the residents who came out to speak to us. We also held a cuppa with a copper at McDonalds. Great to see familiar faces.
You said shoplifting was a concern.
Officers from the Seven Kings Neighbourhood Team have delivered a positive result following targeted patrols at Grove Farm Retail Park in response to a recent increase in shoplifting offences.
Acting on intelligence and community concerns, the team implemented a proactive policing approach, including high-visibility patrols supported by a coordinated plain clothes operation. This targeted activity aimed to both deter offending and identify those responsible for repeat thefts impacting local businesses.
During the operation, officers successfully identified and monitored suspicious behaviour, leading to the arrest of two individuals for shoplifting offences. The swift and professional actions of the officers involved prevented further loss to retailers and demonstrated a clear commitment to tackling acquisitive crime in the area.
Officers arrested another male for Failure to appear.
We found a stolen vehicle which has been recovered.
Great results, all in one shift.
The Seven Kings Neighbourhood Team will continue to maintain a visible presence at key locations and carry out targeted operations to reduce offending and ensure the retail environment remains safe for businesses, staff, and the wider public.
