Hayes Town – What Your Local Officers Have Been Up To |
||
|
Officers from the Hayes Town Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out high‑visibility patrols across the ward, focusing on local priorities and listening to residents’ concerns. Patrols have taken place throughout Hayes Town, including known hotspot areas, with officers speaking directly with residents, completing Met Engage sign‑ups, and offering reassurance and crime‑prevention advice.
As part of ongoing work to tackle Anti‑Social Behaviour, officers have taken action against street drinking and nuisance behaviour, moving individuals on where necessary and advising that Community Protection Warnings may be issued if behaviour continues. Targeted patrols have also taken place in locations such as East Avenue and Lake Farm Country Park car parks, including vehicle checks, to help deter ASB and improve community safety.
The team has also been supporting wider priorities, including Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), through reassurance visits to victims, safeguarding actions, and partnership working to ensure appropriate support is available. In addition, officers have addressed concerns around electric scooters and e‑bikes being used on pavements, speaking with riders, providing advice, and taking enforcement action where appropriate to help keep pedestrians safe.
In response to complaints from residents about vehicles parking obstructively and blocking driveways, the team has also worked in partnership with traffic wardens in affected areas. This joint working has resulted in enforcement action being taken, including the issuing of parking tickets, to improve access for residents and address ongoing concerns around inconsiderate parking.
And finally, while out and about, officers were pleased to meet a very friendly local cat who stopped them for a quick fuss, showing the community‑focused and approachable side of neighbourhood policing.
If you have concerns or would like updates about policing in your area, please continue to engage with us via Met Engage or contact the Hayes Town Safer Neighbourhood Team.
