Local Priorities Anti Social Behaviour Update |
||
|
Please review the following update regarding Anti Social Behaviour which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. The teams have had several successes in addressing some key concerns across number of wards. More recently good work in tackling a persistent offender linked to high harm ASB and subsequent offences, has as a result of co-ordinated work with local authority seen the enforcement action taken and male evicted from address, with victim safeguarded. Furthermore, team today have arrested a male concerned in breach of Community Protection Notice who has been targeting vulnerable victims as result of cuckooing related matters. As a result of Criminal Behaviour Order secured by PC Ross in February 2026, 2 separate but further Criminal Behaviour Orders are being applied for a team of 2 adult males involved and committing range of ASB and criminal offences against vulnerable victims residing in sheltered accommodation. Further plan of action working closely with local authority and courts will see further co-ordinated enforcement against all 3 adults to ensure positive action is taken to secure vulnerable victims of cuckooing and ASB as a result. The team have also secured a dog warrant and in the process of applying for a 2nd warrant unrelated to address key concerns of dangerous dog possession across North Cluster and concerns by community in response to subsequent risk. Work on both continues. Lastly team have issued a Community Protection Notice to a male who was persistently selling / using nitrous oxide and using their vehicle in an anti-social way. The owner and vehicle were served a s.59 warning under Police Reform Act. Further work is being progressed on partial and full closure orders on different venues linked to persistent anti-social behaviour to ensure those intent on impacting quality of life and victimisation around ASB are actioned. Our Community Support Team along with Dedicated Ward Officers continue to also conduct routine patrols and Street a Week recommences, so please keep look out, and your help to spread the word on Met Engage and membership sign up would also be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you. Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police.
