Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you all are having a nice week.
Please find at the end of this e-mail the Police Street Surgeries taking place over the next few days. Please note, I have had to move Sunday’s (10/05/26) surgery at Goodwood Place to Monday (11/05/26) at 16:00 -16:15.
Anti-social behaviour - Underage Drinking – Burrington Dr
On 02/05/26 myself and colleagues responded to a report of suspected underage drinking taking place on the grassed area on Burrington Drive. ![]() Later in the evening we received a further report, and we attended to find a 14 year old child being treated by ambulance staff due to taking excessive amounts of alcohol. As a precaution, the child was taken to hospital, and I have since spoken to their mother who has confirmed the child was fine. Yesterday (07/05/26) I made contact with a number of parents and guardians of the children who were present, to ensure they were aware of what happened, to help prevent any further incidents. Thank you to everyone I spoke to for being understanding and supportive of the concerns I raised. I am aware that the child’s friends called the ambulance and they should be commended for their actions in calling 999 and getting help for their friend. This incident highlights the dangers of underage drinking and how easily things can go very wrong. If you would like to talk to your child about alcohol, there is some very useful information on the law and advice on how to talk to your child/children about alcohol on the NSPCC website and here’s the link.
‘We Knocked to Check You Locked’ – Crime prevention initiative
Today (08/05/26) I have launched a new crime prevention initiative in Trentham and Hanford, which I have created, called ‘We Knocked to Check You Locked’. I have created this initiative following looking at patterns and trends in historical and recent crime incidents, both here and in other parts of the city. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be visiting addresses throughout the Trentham and Hanford area to speak with residents and promote the importance of locking your vehicle, removing valuables and ensuring that doors to properties are locked. Streets will be picked randomly; with the first location I have visited being ‘Bevandean Close’
By taking these simple but important steps, it can be incredibly effective in preventing crime. Trentham and Hanford is a fantastic place to live and I want it to be as safe as possible, and part of achieving this is by taking away the opportunities for those who seek to carry out criminal acts here.
Therefore as part of your daily routine… If you would like any further crime prevention advice, please do not hesitate to contact myself.
How to report Crimes and Incidents.
Reporting Crimes and incidents can be done by…
*Calling 101 in non-emergencies *Calling 999 in emergencies *Non- emergency incidents can also be reporting by visiting www.staffordshire.police.uk and clicking ‘Report It’ on the home page, as seen in this picture
This ensures that incidents are recorded, logged, responded to promptly and dealt with by the appropriate officer or department.
Please can I kindly ask that Crimes and Incidents are not reported through e-mails, voicemails or text messages but through one of the above Police contact options. I am concerned that should I be committed with another incident, off duty, on leave or on unexpected leave, your message may not be read, and this can significantly delay a Police response.
There have been times where reports (some of which should of been made by calling 999) have been e-mailed to me, and on occasion with no contact information other than the e-mail address of the person reporting.
Events Tomorrow (09/05/26), myself and colleagues with be attending the Community Day at Trentham Estate.
If you see me, please come and say hello and as always, please let me know if there is anything I can help with.
Coffee Morning – Trentham Community Library
Please find below the poster for a number of ‘Coffee Mornings’ that have been arranged by the Trentham Central Residents Association. They will be taking place at the Trentham Community Library, Allerton Rd
On 20th June 2026, I will be attending and giving a talk on Neighbourhood Watch, Home Security and any other topics you would like to raise. I’m really looking forward to this, where hopefully I can speak to lots of residents and visitors.
