Burglary Overnight

Good afternoon Resident,

In the early hours of this morning Kent Police received a 999 call regarding a burglary that was in progress on a road off of Chequers Road. Fortunately the suspect was disturbed by the homeowner and fled shortly after gaining access to the property. The suspect gained entry to the property by manipulating the lock of the rear garden doors.

Please remain vigilant and ensure that you are securing your property by doing the following actions:

Keep your doors and windows secure and locked

Consider purchasing CCTV that covers your front door and the access points to your property

Report suspicious persons or events to Kent Police via 101, 999 or the live chat option on the Kent Police website

Ensure that all door and window locks are functional and in working order.

Do not leave expensive possessions in sight of windows.

If going on holiday, do not advertise this on social media that your home address will be unoccupied

If there is a burglary in progress at your home address, call Police on 999 immediately. Do not waste time by calling a friend or family.
