Pro-Active Patrols! |

Good Morning,
Neighbourhood Beat Officers (NBOs) have been on duty in China Town since 7:00am today, carrying out proactive patrols to address ongoing concerns around anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the area. This increased police presence comes following multiple reports of ASB over the past few weeks, with particular concern raised by residents, businesses, and visitors regarding incidents in and around the pagoda. These reports have highlighted issues such as disorderly conduct, drug use and nuisance behaviour which have been impacting the local community’s sense of safety.
In response, officers have been taking a robust and visible approach this morning, using a combination of stop searches and civil powers to both disrupt those involved and deter further incidents. The aim is to ensure that China Town remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
As part of today’s activity: This comes after a female adult was arrested yesterday after she was observed in the same area. She had an outstanding warrant so has been presented to the courts this morning.
Community Protection Warnings are an important tool that allow officers to formally address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local area. Continued breaches can result in further enforcement action. We recognise the importance of China Town as a key cultural and social hub, and we remain committed to working with local partners to reduce ASB and improve the environment for all.
We hope you have a good weekend. As always, please continue to report any concerns or incidents to help us take positive action in your community.
