Good Morning Elmdon Residents,
I hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend, please find below the updates for the past 9 days.
We had an attempted burglary on the 1st of May at 00:30am in Frankton Close where two males have attempted to gain entry to the address via trying door handles on the front, side and back doors along with the conservatory. No entry has been made and the males have left without stealing anything or causing damage. We also had an attempted theft of motor vehicle on the 1st of May at 1:00am in Frankton Close where two males in possession of a relay device have attempted to steal a BMW car. The offenders gained entry to the vehicle but fortunately were unsuccessful in driving away. Lastly, we had an interference with a motor vehicle on Old Lode Lane on 1st May at 00:38am where a male with a handheld device has entered the driveway through the right side of the house potentially through the garden and has tried to dodge the Ring doorbell camera. The suspect has entered the front porch 'searching' for signal for the key with the handheld device in order to open the doors to a BMW car.
Whilst the above news can be quite concerning, we have some good news to share following the vehicle offences in Frankton Close, Elmdon.
Good News: In relation to the vehicle offences in Frankton Close, I am pleased to update you that numerous arrests were made of people we suspect to be involved in these offences. The investigation continues. We have made two arrests in connection with an incident where people were causing issues with pellet guns in and around Rowood Drive. This included using a pellet gun to shoot at one of our own team as well as a member of the public carrying a 10 week old baby. The investigation is ongoing but the hard work of the LEOS Neighbourhood Team contributed to 2 people being arrested whilst enquiries continue. The Silhill street watch group have been out on patrol this week, a big thank you to our volunteers for joining us. We encourage anyone else wishing to join to make contact with us! Your local Elmdon Dedicated Neighbourhood Officer and PCSO have been issuing multiple community protection warnings to people causing issues with off road bikes in Elmdon Park and surrounding roads. These warnings are to prevent them from engaging in anti-social behaviour. Officers have assisted our St Alphege Team colleagues following an assault in Solihull Town Centre earlier this week. One person was detained and a community resolution was completed whilst the victim was safeguarded by officers. Lastly, officers have been working closely with the Synagogue in Olton and completing patrols across the Solihull borough yesterday to ensure the polling stations ran smoothly.
This week’s crime prevention advice is for preventing theft from a vehicle. Here are some tips to prevent it.
