Local Priorities Violence against women and girls (VAWG) Message |
||
|
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Violence against women and girls (VAWG), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. On Friday 1 May, officers from Canterbury Community Safety Unit and Child Protection teams carried out proactive patrols in Canterbury city centre. Both uniformed and plain-clothed officers were deployed as part of Project Vigilant, focusing on preventing predatory behaviour at an early stage. Patrols were intelligence-led, allowing officers to direct their attention to areas and individuals of concern. A number of people were spoken to and engaged with as part of this activity. These proactive patrols help ensure Canterbury remains a safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors.
