Dear Resident
You are receiving this message as you live in the vicinity of an attempted burglary that occurred on Stirling Road, Burley in Wharfedale. At 4am on 05/05/2026, CCTV captured footage of two suspects, wearing face coverings and gloves, trying to patio door handles at the address. The doors were locked and no entry was gained and no damage caused.
If you have any information in relation to the above please contact the Police on 101 or speak to a local PCSO. Please also check your CCTV or Doorbell camera if you have one during the crime timings to see if there are any activations. This is also a good time to check your own security, many offences are preventable with small improvements to your homes security. Consider the following… Are my shed / garage and house doors locked & secure? Are my ground floor windows locked? Are my valuable items out of sight? Are my keys near my front or back door? Are my keyless entry car keys in a suitable faraday container? Is the area around the house free from tools, garden equipment, ladders? Does the perimeter at the front of my house have good natural surveillance? Are my cylinder locks anti-snap and have a 3-star rating? Are my smart devices secure - passwords, Wi-Fi code etc? Have I marked my valuables and recorded serial numbers? Have I marked all my tools with a postcode and house number with a UV pen? Have I registered my bike on the National Cycle Database? Is there a Neighbourhood Watch group near where I live?
Thank you.
Crime occurrence 13260255595 refers.
