Community Safety Update: Addressing Concerns Across Sundorne, Harlescott and the wider locality |
||
|
The Harlescott and Sundorne Safer Neighbourhood Team are aware of increasing community concerns relating to exploitation, knife-related incidents, anti-social behaviour and youth criminality within the Sundorne and Harlescott areas, as well as surrounding localities. We want to reassure residents, schools and partners that these concerns are being taken seriously.
It is important to be clear that these issues are not isolated to one school, one group of young people or one location. Concerns are being raised across a wide area, and we are responding accordingly. Ensuring the safety of the whole community remains our priority, and we are committed to working together to reduce harm, increase visibility and provide support where it is needed most.
We are working closely with the council, schools, youth services, community organisations and families to address the matters being reported. This includes targeted early intervention, intelligence-led activity, and tailored support for young people who may be at risk of being drawn into harmful situations.
Above all, we want to recognise that many of the concerns being raised are regarding children. Our response aims to safeguard them, support families, and prevent further harm - while ensuring community safety remains paramount.
