Good News

A Live Facial Recognition (LFR) operation was deployed in Woolwich Town Centre within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Woolwich Arsenal officers were involved. The deployment formed part of ongoing proactive policing activity aimed at identifying individuals wanted for serious offences and enhancing public safety.

The operation resulted in a total of 11 arrests. These included:

·  2 arrests for possession of offensive weapons

·  2 arrests for burglary offences

·  A further 7 arrests relating to various other outstanding matters, including recall to prison and failure to appear at court

The operation contributed to the disruption of criminal activity in the area and demonstrated the continued effectiveness of LFR as a tool in identifying wanted individuals and reducing harm within the community. Resulting in the local community showed their support by giving positive feedback whilst officers were on the operation.
